INCREASE – Intelligent Collections of Food Legumes Genetic Resources for European Agrofood Systems

More than 4,600 citizens registered for Citizen Science Experiment – registrations open until 28 February 2023!

More than 4,600 citizens from all over Europe have to date registered for the INCREASE Citizen Science Experiment and registration numbers are growing steadily. Germany still counts the highest number of registrations with 2053 registered participants. Second place makes Italy, where the Citizen Science Experiment was recently broadcasted on national TV, with 1021 registrations. Italy is followed by Sweden (443 registrations), Spain (339 registrations) and Poland (185 registrations). The graphic below illustrates the current registration numbers per country.

Through an innovative approach to seed conservation, multiplication and sharing, the INCREASE Citizen Science Experiment invites citizens to support agrobiodiversity by growing and evaluating old bean varieties in their fields, gardens, on their terraces or balconies. Interested citizens can still register for the INCREASE Citizen Science Experiment until 28 February 2023 via the ‘INCREASE CSA’ app.
