Max-Planck-Gesellschaft zur Förderung der Wissenschaften e.V.

The molecular plant physiology department of the Max Planck Gesellschaft (MPIMP) was built in the late nineties and is located just outside Potsdam, Germany. The institute holds world leading research facilities and scientists in the fields of metabolism and systems oriented approaches. It is one of the premier global sites for research in plant metabolism. Currently, there are over 400 people working at the institute, divided into three main departments, and several independent institutes.

Role within INCREASE

In INCREASE the Max-Planck-Gesellschaft will be in charge of the scientific coordination of work package 4: Information production, sequence analysis and phenotyping. In addition to that, the main task will be the generation of metabolomics data (primary and secondary metabolites and lipids) and transcriptomics on the INCREASE core collections described in task 4.3 and task 4.4.
