Registration Deadline Extended for INCREASE Citizen Science Experiment: Join Now Until 30 April 2026
We are pleased to announce that the registration deadline for the INCREASE Citizen Science Experiment (CSE) has been extended to 30 April 2026, marking the final day of the INCREASE project period. This extension offers additional time for pulse enthusiasts, hobby gardeners and citizen scientists across Europe and beyond to join this unique bean-growing initiative via the “INCREASE CSA” app.
Since the launch of this year’s experiment, participation has already been remarkable, with 1466 registrations from 25 countries, including 99 schools.
By joining the experiment, participants receive diverse bean varieties to grow and observe, contributing valuable data on plant traits that support research and conservation efforts. Whether in gardens, on balconies or in fields, every contribution helps build a richer understanding of crop diversity.
New participants registering later in April should be aware that bean deliveries may arrive quite late in the sowing season, as postal delivery can take up to several weeks. While the INCREASE team is working hard to dispatch seeds as quickly as possible, delays may arise due to international mail delivery. We encourage participants to take this into account when planning their growing activities.
Importantly, while the INCREASE project officially concludes at the end of April 2026, the Citizen Science Experiment will continue throughout 2026 and possibly beyond, ensuring that the bean conservation community and its contributions can carry on.
Don’t miss your chance to be part of this lively, international bean community – join us, give agrobiodiversity a chance!
