INCREASE Showcased as a Best Practice in Citizen Science at European Cluster Event
On 19 June 2025, the INCREASE project participated in the cluster event “Advancing Public Engagement and Citizen Science in the European Research Area.” This gathering brought together researchers and policymakers to celebrate citizen science and emphasize the importance of public engagement. The event highlighted best practices, informed future policy directions, shared valuable insights, and fostered collaboration across the European Research Area.
INCREASE was represented by project coordinator Prof. Roberto Papa, who delivered a short talk and presented a poster on the INCREASE Citizen Science Experiment as a best practice of citizen involvement in research and innovation.
The event also included the announcement of the winners of the EU Citizen Science Prize 2025. The EU Prize for Citizens Science rewards outstanding citizen science initiatives that enact change, expand knowledge, and address social, political, cultural, and environmental challenges through the involvement of citizens. INCREASE received this prestigious award in 2024 in recognition of its impactful approach to advancing knowledge on agrobiodiversity conservation through the empowerment of civil society.
