INCREASE Featured on German TV Show 'Lege kommt auf den Geschmack'

We are thrilled to announce that the INCREASE project will be featured in an upcoming episode of the popular German TV show Lege kommt auf den Geschmack – “Das perfekte Chili” (Lege acquires a taste for it – ‘The perfect chilli’), airing on 27 October 2025 at 20:15 CEST on VOX.

In this new four-part series, Germany’s most renowned product developer, Sebastian Lege, explores the German’s favourite dishes. Using his extensive expertise, he aims to uncover what makes them truly delicious and to recreate the ultimate taste experience.

For his chili creation, Sebastian Lege visited the IPK gene bank, where he explored the diversity of bean varieties preserved and tasted several traditional varieties to find the perfect match for his recipe.

In the episode dedicated to the “Perfect Chili,” INCREASE beans are used to create the perfect chili dish, contributing to its unique flavour and showcasing their diversity and culinary potential. The dishes are evaluated by an expert jury, including Dr Kerstin Neumann, Coordinator of the INCREASE Citizen Science Experiment, who will help decide which chili deserves the title of “Das perfekte Chili”.

This collaboration highlights the versatility and flavour potential of INCREASE bean varieties, bringing our research on genetic diversity and sustainable food systems to a broad audience, in the most delicious way possible!
