Discover the World of Beans with our new ‘Bean of the Week’ Series!
The INCREASE team is excited to launch a brand-new series, ‘Bean of the Week’, shining a spotlight on the incredible diversity of beans. Each week, we’ll highlight a different bean variety from the INCREASE Citizen Science Experiment collection, exploring its unique characteristics and origins.
Drawing on data collected by citizen scientists, each bean profile provides insights into the variety's main traits. The beans featured in the weekly series are the varieties most frequently exchanged by citizens in the INCREASE seed exchange. They are all part of the more than 1,000 bean varieties which are grown and evaluated by citizens in the INCREASE Citizen Science Experiment.
Whether you’re a gardening enthusiast, a food lover, or just curious about biodiversity, ‘Bean of the Week’ is a fun and informative way to explore the richness of our favourite crop. Follow along and discover new varieties you may never have heard of before!
