The Department of Plant Sciences along with the fully integrated Crop Development Centre (CDC), provide a truly unique experience to students by offering teaching and research programs focusing on the physiology, development management and production of field and horticultural crops on the Canadian prairies and the management of non-arable lands.

Role within INCREASE

Project Collaborator - Dr Bett currently leads EVOLVES, her second large-scale lentil genomics project through Genome Canada. EVOLVES explores the incorporation of wild germplasm into the cultivated lentil genome, and the potential impacts and implications for breeding, processing and the health-food and plant-based protein markets, both globally and domestically. Dr Bett brings her expertise as a molecular geneticist and plant breeder and experience in leading two large-scale lentil genomics projects to the INCREASE team.
